Start with your…
Snapchat saves your text, drawings and stickers as a separate layer. We put that layer back on the photo or video, where you placed it.
The export loses when you took each memory. We write the real date and time into every file, in the right time zone, so your gallery sorts it on the right day.
Where Snapchat knows the place, we write it into the file. Google Photos and Apple Photos then show your photos on the map.
Long videos come out as several short clips. We join them back into one video, with the caption on every second of it.
Your files stay on this computer. The page reads them, fixes them, and saves new copies. Your export is not changed.

Add every part: mydata~….zip, mydata~…-2.zip, and so on.
Examples of what the fixer restores. Not real customer files.
On a computer, go to accounts.snapchat.com and log in.
Open My Data.
Turn on Export your Memories and Export JSON files. Leave the date range off to get everything. Do not use “Request Only Memories”: people report that export has no JSON file, so no places.
Send the request. Snapchat emails you when the files are ready. It aims to do this within 7 days; big exports can take longer.
Download every ZIP file in the list. The first one, with no number at the end, holds the dates and places.
Safari on a Mac may unzip the files by itself. That is fine: choose “Choose an unzipped folder” in the tool.

Chrome or Edge on a computer. They save straight into a folder and fix videos fastest. Firefox and Safari work too: they save ZIP files that you unzip into one folder.
Yes. The page reads your ZIP files piece by piece, so size is not a problem. You need free disk space about the size of your memories. If it stops, run it again into the same folder: finished files are skipped.
For small exports, yes. For big ones, use a computer.
Snapchat only knows the place when location was on as you saved the memory. Then there is nothing to restore.
The time zone where each memory was taken, found from its place. A memory with no place uses your computer's time zone. You can change this in step 2.
No. Your ZIP files stay as they are. Fixed copies are saved next to them, plus a list (_report.csv) of what was done to each file.
